Article Withdrawal
Samasta: Journal of Social Sciences, Humanities and Law understand that under certain conditions the author may request a withdrawal of the manuscript (withdrawalHowever, withdrawal requests must be handled responsibly, taking into account the time and resources invested by editors and reviewers. This policy distinguishes withdrawals before publication from retractions of published articles.
1. Withdrawal by the Author
Authors may submit a request for manuscript withdrawal for academic or ethical reasons that can be accounted for, such as substantial errors in the manuscript, authorship issues, research ethics issues, or relevant legal reasons.
Requests must be submitted by the corresponding author in writing to the editor and include the title of the manuscript, issue numbersubmission, the reason for withdrawal, and confirmation that all authors have acknowledged and agreed to the request. A manuscript is only considered officially withdrawn after confirmation from the editor.
2. Withdrawal During Review Process
Withdrawal after the peer review process has begun is highly discouraged because the editors and reviewers have invested time and effort in assessing the manuscript.
Authors are not permitted to withdraw a manuscript solely because they disagree with a reviewer's comments, disagree with an editorial decision, or intend to submit the same manuscript to another journal. Withdrawals to avoid plagiarism checks, suspected ethical violations, or investigations are also prohibited.
3. Withdrawal After Receipt
Withdrawing a manuscript after acceptance is an exceptional action and can only be considered if there are strong reasons, such as serious research errors, ethical issues, or legal issues.
When an article has entered the production stage or has been published asversion of record, is handled based on the Correction and Retraction Policy, not through the usual withdrawal procedure. Published scientific records must, in principle, be retained, and changes or deletions are only made in very limited circumstances.
4. Withdrawal Decision
The Editor-in-Chief has the final authority to approve or reject a withdrawal request, taking into account the author's reasons, the stage of the editorial process, publication ethics, and the interest in maintaining the integrity of the publishing process.
In cases involving alleged plagiarism, multiple publications, fabrication or falsification of data, authorship conflicts, or other ethical violations, a withdrawal request does not automatically stop the journal's ethical review process.
