Errors & Corrections
Makrifat: Journal of Islamic Studies provides an Errata & Corrigenda mechanism to correct errors discovered in articles after they are published. This policy aims to maintain the accuracy of information and the quality of the journal's scientific record without inappropriately altering the substance of the articles.
1. Errata
Errata are used to correct errors originating from the publishing process or technical errors that occur in articles, such as typos, author names, figures, tables, images, or bibliographic information.
Corrections are made if the error could cause misunderstanding or reduce the accuracy of the information in the article.
2. Corrections
Corrigenda are used to correct errors discovered after the article is published by the author. Requests for corrections can be submitted by the author or identified by the editor.
Corrections must be accompanied by an explanation of the part that needs to be corrected and the correct information to replace it.
3. Correction Process
Correction requests will be reviewed by the editor to ensure the proposed changes are necessary. If approved, the journal will publish an Erratum or Corrigendum containing information about the article, the corrected section, and the form of the correction.
Substantive corrections should not alter the primary meaning, results, or conclusions of the research. If the error seriously impacts the reliability of the article, the editor may consider Article Retraction in accordance with journal policy.
4. Transparency of Changes
Makrifat: Journal of Islamic Studies will maintain a link between the original article and the correction notice so readers are aware of any changes. Corrections are not made secretly, and any significant changes will be noted in the journal's publication record.
With this policy, the journal strives to ensure that published articles remain accurate, trustworthy, and have a transparent scientific record.
